A Pokemon Roleplay

Formatting Posts

When you have this style of roleplaying, cutting and trimming parts out of your posts to keep it compact can be hard. So here’s a quick guide to what you should do to get the most out of the reblog system.

First of all, do NOT. EVER. reblog as a link. Reblog as text. Always.

Second, even though we’ve been using it throughout the roleplay, it should end here. Read mores aren’t to be used! They basically serve the same function as a link and can be avoided.

So here’s what you SHOULD do. Cut out all of the roleplay posts that aren’t relevant to your reply. I just recently made a post that is a good example of this, incase you’re confused. Click!

See how Brady is replying to both the actions of Vero, and Brynn? Because of this, I opted to leave both Vero’s and Brynn’s responses. No read mores, and not as a link. Pretty simple, right? Now let’s say I was in a 1 on 1 RP with Jenn. I would only have Jenn’s reply before mine, and none other.

It’s up to you to determine how many replies back you need to include. Even though you mention a character in your reply, is it necessary to include their reply two posts back? That’s for you to decide! Whatever you do, their post is still there, so it’s not a big deal.

One more thing I’d like to cover. If you’ve been away from the RP for a while or whatever, and you have to reblog someone but you’re not actually responding to them, there is a specific rule to follow. If your post doesn’t relate to anyone but yourself, just delete the whole post and reply! The little “blahblah reblogged from blooblah” will still be there, so we understand its a reply, but you’re not needlessly keeping someone else’s post in your reply this way.

If you have any questions or something doesn’t make sense, message doctorsaturn with an ask and I’ll fix it / elaborate.

Official Post Order!

rp-jen:

nurami:

In order to keep this roleplay from getting too chaotic (which may be difficult since we’re practically all in the same place!) we’ll have a set post order…

((So wait just to confirm

If Cath asked Jen what her name was

would I have to wait until Brady, Brynn & Vero all posted before I could respond?))

As long as it doesn’t disrupt anyone else’s roleplaying, it should be just fine! And it didn’t, so don’t worry!

(disrupting someone would be somethign along the lines of creating a paradox, or just doing something like posting ahead of someone else wow i cant come up with any examples right now.)

EDIT- We’re still on the fence about the mechanics and supposed usefulness of posting orders, so for now, just go with the flow until we figure out what works best.

Posting Order

In order to keep this roleplay from getting too chaotic (which may be difficult since we’re practically all in the same place!) we’ll have a set post order!

  1. Brady
  2. Brynn
  3. Vero
  4. Jennifer
  5. Catherine
  6. and back to Brady…

Keep in mind it doesn’t have to start with Brady!

Also it’s fine to go out of order, just as long as you feel it doesn’t break the flow of the roleplay itself.
For example: The character asks another character what their name is, but then goes off to talk to someone else before they can respond.
Exceptions can be made for when someone doesn’t respond for ages.

You can make the call whether or not it’s disrupting the flow ;)

EDIT- We’re still on the fence about the mechanics and supposed usefulness of posting orders, so for now, just go with the flow until we figure out what works best.
